Chervil

Chervil is one of the flashiest does in the herd. She is a gorgeous red roan with a ton of spots. She did not freshen the past two springs.  We wanted  to ensure that she kidded this year, so she was  brought into heat and bred to KB Farms Chili Pepper, who is a buck out of Lavender and  her brother Stoney Forest’s SFSA Thistle. She is just correct all over, with a level top line, nice rear leg set, good capacity and great udder. Chervil was over bagged for LA in 2000, so we milked her half out. Her photo shows her half milked out.  This is a Ruby daughter that shows lots of promise, however, be warned that this is a slow maturing doe line. Ruby did not look her best until four years of age. This doe line has tons of milk. She kidded with two does, so I've forgiven her for not allowing the young bucks to breed her the last two years!!! However, not freshening the last two years has put her behind on udder capacity. Although she is milking well, her capacity should be more than what she is currently showing. It may take her a couple of years of freshening to bring her back up to where she should be.  We'll will be pen breeding her this year due to the problems we've had in the past in getting her bred. She'll be pen bred in October.
