DOB: 15/5/97

LA: 3-00 FS 86 ++EE

Ivy continues to give us great kids.  Ivy is a wonderful doe out of Apollo, who was bred by Helen Snyder (Starfire herd) up in PA. Ivy is a very wide long, bodied doe with a lot of capacity. She stands on sound feet and legs and has a very nice rear leg set. Her breed character is good, her udder is plastered-on!!!! Her foreudder is nice. A very good milker, she has filled out very well in the top of her rear udder. Very good udder capacity this year.  Her daughters are just gorgeous, especially Lavender.  Lavender is outstanding this year, she is almost perfect!!!!!  She has a rear udder width that I'm looking for.  I think both Ivy and Lavender will go high 80's in LA this year. These are very large, dairy does. Only thing we would change about Ivy would be to straighten her teats out a bit, although we are not seeing the turning out of teats on her daughters. Ivy's daughters include LavenderFig , Lelo and Peakly.  We'll  AI'd her this year to Amberwood Pepper's Foxxfire and see what we get. Foxxfire has a 72% reliability and an 18 daughter appraisal average of 84.6. This ought to be fun!!!!

We strongly feel that you should be able to compare dams, daughters and sires visually.  It really helps to see what the dam or sire is throwing.

Shown below are Ivy's daughters we have kept. We just recently sold her daughter Fig to a dairy in Illinois just because she wouldn't co-operate at milking time. They have a much smaller holding area than we do and are willing to put up with her ;).  Fig is an outstanding doe, but she did not like to be handled or lead.  We just didn't have the time to fool with her. When we were doing photos we were unable to get her for a photo, hence no photo on her web page. In our herd, you must co-operate, we don't have the time for prima donnas ;)......   Amberwood Pepper's Foxxfire was the sire to GCH Hilton's Cinnimon Spice 1*M, the 1988 Reserve National Champion. Looking forward to seeing what these kids look like.
