Topaz will always hold a special place in my heart. Her dam was my first purebred doe, Amber, who was also my first GCH doe. The majority of our herd genetics comes from Amber’s sons. We have linebred along this doe line the entire time we’ve raised Nubians. Topaz looked a lot like her dam with the exception of her white ears. Amber was a solid brown doe. This doe line is typically slow maturing. Unfortunately, Topaz had a very bad case of mastitis in 2001 and passed away the following year (2002). Her sire has produced extremely competitive and milky does in the Starfire Herd.
